Anna Louropoulou graduated in 2002 from the Dental School of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. In 2004, she started her postgraduate training in periodontology in the Academic Center for Dentistry in Amsterdam, The Netherlands from where she graduated in 2007. Her master thesis entitled “Mannose-binding lectin gene polymorphisms in relation to periodontitis” won a Graduate Research Prize from the European Federation of Periodontology. Since 2007 Anna divides her time between the Clinic of Periodontology Rotterdam where she practices periodontology and implantology and the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam where she is doing her PhD about the cleaning of implant surfaces. At the same time, Anna provides clinical training in post-academic students and works as a research leader with a group of dental hygienists.
